Remember that big batch of new lumber I got a couple weeks ago? Well, the first few cutting and serving boards made from that material are finished and in my Etsy shop. If you sort shop inventory by “most recent”, you can find these boards (with the exception of a few black walnut ones) at the top. All the wood for these items came from trees off our own property, and if you don’t mind me saying, they look pretty darn good.
I’ll be making and listing new items fairly regularly (hopefully), so it’s not like this is your last opportunity to get your hands on one of these, but why wait? Perhaps you need a Valentine’s gift for your sweetie, or you’re looking for a way to use up that Etsy gift card you got in your stocking? (*hint, hint, nudge, nudge*)

A couple nights ago, I starting drafting what’s turning out to be a giant blog post on how and why Henry and I got into off-grid living and modern homesteading with some advice for aspiring homesteaders and dreamers. I’m hoping to get that up soon, but it’s turning into a beast of a thing as I keep going off on tangents, adding bits of gossip, and addressing questions that I’ve gotten recently. If I owe you an email on this subject, know that your reply is coming not to your inbox but here on the blog sometime soonish.
Also, I just want to say “get well soon” to everyone out there with the flu and/or other ailments. I got my flu shot yesterday, and my kids got theirs months ago, so I’m crossing my fingers that we can avoid major illness this winter. I’m crossing my fingers for you, too, so take care, friends!
