Six Years

August 22, 2012 · 10 comments

Today is our sixth anniversary, and even though I sort of forgot about this date until Henry reminded me this morning, our marriage doing good. Great actually. It seems a little miraculous that at the ripe old age of 23, we made the decision to spend the rest of our lives together when there there were still so many things that we didn’t know about each other or about how to coexist, but over the years, we’ve continued to discover new ways to live and love each other, and so far, we have no regrets. We are very happy.

Our son Levi took this photo with a little coaching from me and the aid of a tripod.

There’s a little more about our “story” in this anniversary post from last summer.

Congratulations, you two. With every passing year I think more and more what work and what sweetness marriage is. So glad y’all are so happy to be on the journey together.

that’s awesome. I think a bunch of marriages fail b/c people think love and marriage just happen… but really, they are choices. the successful unions (IMHO) involve mature, realistic people—and we all know that age has nothing to do with maturity! ; ) I totally agree with your “dis the princess theme” wedding approach. we did a low-key, small affair amidst much complaining and bitter commentary from the more traditional members of our families, and we regret nothing… and are still married after 10 years. good for you two! many, many blessings to you and your family!

Happy anniversary. I checked back on the 5 year post to catch up…Lovely story. And I love the idea of the tiny wedding. Ours was tiny, too – 5 people.
